Requirements for Major
The philosophy majorwith pre-law emphasis consists of a minimum of eight units: one unit in each of the areas that fall within the core, one unit in philosophical issues in the law, one unit capstone research seminar, and three electives at least one of which is at the 300-level. Notes:
- The department also recommends PHIL 207, Symbolic Logic, as additional preparation for law school.
- All courses for the major must be taken for a numerical grade and cannot be taken credit/no credit.
- Directed studies may be used to fulfill major requirements with permission of the department chair.
