Interim President Joe Calvaruso, ’78 and his wife Donna share their Albion Everywhere moments:

Several years ago, Donna and I were in Brussels, Belgium enjoying Belgium waffles and chocolate. We were there for ten days, and we got to enjoy this amazing city. A friend of ours introduced us to a man who worked for the State Department. I can’t remember his name now, but what I do remember is that he was an Albion Alumni! He was very excited to meet another Albion Alumni so far from home. We had a great conversation about our experiences at Albion College — many years and many miles from Albion.

Another time, Donna and I were on Mackinac Island and we were staying at the Grand Hotel. We ran into Dan Musser, who at the time owned the Grand Hotel. Dan, a proud Albion College Alumni and a former member of the Board of Trustees, was a very gracious host. Donna complimented him on the delicious food and excellent service in the Grand’s main dining room. Dan began to explain the secrets of how they were able to serve so many people so quickly, and before we knew it, he took us back to the kitchen for a backstage tour. It was a fun experience!
